What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a relatively new treatment which has become increasingly popular due to having a number of aesthetic benefits to the skin. A surgical grade scalpel is used to gently scrape the skin removing all vellus hair (commonly known as ‘peach fuzz’) from the face. The action of the blade also removes the upper layer of dead skin cells so giving the perfect exfoliation. This process helps to reveal smoother and brighter skin, giving the complexion a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.

Dermaplaning also has hidden benefits! Once the fine vellus hairs and dead skin cells have been removed skin resembles a polished canvas so allowing make-up to glide on evenly without getting caught on the fine fuzz. It is therefore an ideal treatment for brides and special occasions. The treatment also allows topical skincare actives to penetrate more effectively so permitting better product absorption.

Who is This For?

Perfect for: brides, special occasions, those wanting a smooth hair free complexion.

Not recommended for: acne, congested and problematic skin/oily skin, highly sensitive skin, dermatitis and rosacea or infections including cold sores, darker/excess hair due to a medical condition such as polycystic ovaries, nickel allergy (scalpel blade) or some recent aesthetic treatments such as peels.

What to Expect

This is a very relaxing treatment with immediate visible results. You might have heard that derma planing can cause breakouts. This can occur when using a ‘DIY’ blade at home that is not clean or when skin is not prepped adequately. In the salon a sterile blade is used for each client, skin is prepared accordingly and aftercare must be followed to ensure spot-free skin!

Some active skin care ingredients such as glycolic acid and high levels of Vitamin A/retinol cannot be used for 2-3 days post treatment (depending on their strength), we will go through your regime to ensure your skin is happy!

Dermaplaning Facial - £45 (50 min)

Includes a double cleanse followed by a number of steps designed specifically to prepare the skin for the scalpel! Once the treatment is complete a hydrating, calming moisturiser and a clinical grade SPF 50 are applied to the skin.

Dermaplaning with that little bit extra….. £57 (70 min)

You can add a beautifully scented calming rose mask with an optional head or hand and arm massage for an additional £12

  • A: Dermaplaning gives the ultimate smooth canvas, flawless makeup, and photographs beautifully.

  • If for a special occasion then I would recommend 2-3 days before. If you love the results and want to have dermaplaning regularly then every 4-6 weeks is recommended.

    We do not want to over exfoliate the skin so repeated treatments less than 4 weeks apart is not recommended.
