Microdermabrasion by Crystal Clear
Microdermabrasion is a clinically proven and celebrated skin resurfacing treatment that offers flawless results for a range of skin concerns. A fine jet of non-allergenic aluminium oxide crystals is passed over the skin which gently abrades its surface and then a vacuum action lifts away the debris. This dual action both resurfaces the skin and stimulates blood flow as well as cell renewal so encouraging the skin to rejuvenate itself. The vacuum action also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.
As a non-surgical method of skin rejuvenation, microdermabrasion is quick, convenient and painless, immediately restoring younger, smoother looking skin. A single treatment can remove up to three times the number of dead skin cells in a single session than that of many other treatments. It is often referred to as the 'lunchtime facial' because of its convenience and zero down time. After just one treatment results are clearly visible with brighter, fresher, clearer skin.
For specific skin concerns a course of between 6 (as a minimum) to 10 treatments is recommended.
There are some cautions and contraindications to microdermabrasion which will be checked when you book.
Some skin care ingredients such as lactic acid, glycolic acid and vitamin A/retinol cannot be used for 2-3 days post treatment, for this reason your skin care regime will be discussed and some modifications suggested.
Skin can be a little pink after treatment! Also, no make-up, unless a pure mineral brand such as Jane Iredale can be applied for 24 hours after treatment. I would therefore not advise having this treatment if you have an event that same evening or the next day.
Microdermabrasion targets a range of skin conditions (men too!) and can be used for:
* Acne (grades 1 and 2 characterised by blocked pores and blackheads) where there is no inflammation
* Acne scarring
* Congested and problematic skin/oily skin
* Fine lines and wrinkles
* Photo-damaged and ageing skin
* Uneven skin tone, pigmentation and blemishes
* Stretch marks
*Upper back and backs of arms (recommended for that special dress and brides)
Treatment is in 3 phases:
1. Exfoliation of the entire chosen area.
2. Correctional work to areas of concern.
3. Vacuum lifting to enhance lymph drainage and to give a toned appearance.
Facial Treatment - £42.00 (45 min)
Includes a full cleanse and 3 stage treatment (as above) to the face and neck followed by calming moisturiser and SPF. You have the option to add a hydrating, firming masque with an extra 15 min treatment time for an additional £8.00. A course is recommended to address specific concerns although just one treatment will brighten the skin for that special occasion.
Course of 6 facial treatments - Ideally 7-10 days apart for younger skins and 10-14 for maturer skins. Your 6th treatment is free (when taken as a course in the specified time frame).
Body Treatment - £42.00 (45 min)
Ideal for clearing up dry skin and small blemishes which can be apparent on the upper back and arms for example. If you have an area of concern please do enquire. A course of treatment may be recommended as above.
